Tazza - Torta di ceci

Torta di ceci may also be eaten like bread, with a sprinkling of pepper, or with a bit of eggplant in pesto if you wish.
In Livorno, where you can buy these “tortai”, this dish is called “five and five”. This expression dates to around the 1920s, and refers to 5 cents of cake and 5 cents of bread in old lire.
